Purge

Do you ever have the urge to throw everything in your house away? I do. Right now. But where do I start. I want to just grab a garbage bag and start tossing, but I get so worried that I will throw away something that someday I will need. What if I regret the purge? That really holds me back. I need to overcome that fear and learn to de-clutter. Any advice? How do you let go of junk (both physical and mental)?

Let me in! I love to throw stuff away :-) if it is something you think you might miss put it in a bag out of sight (garage) for a couple of weeks..if you didn't need it CHUCK IT!! Also , skip the guilt on all of the millions of cute things your kids make and create. Pick one or two and throw the rest away

The things the kids make! Yes, that's the trouble. It's so hard to throw them away. But you're right, I don't need every thing! It's also hard because I haven't de-junked since I moved in, so there is a lot of stuff. It's going to be a fun Spring Break

If you are having a hard time parting with things the kids make, take a picture of it, then toss it. It's much smaller to store and you will still have something to remember it by. For me, it also helps to give stuff to DI because I think about how many kids out there would love to have the things that my kids don't wear or play with anymore.

We will be busy doing the same thing in the next little while. Have fun!

I'm with Laurie, I love throwing away things I don't need or haven't used in years. I'm the sneaky mom that throws all papers away a week later once they've forgotten about it :)

Pretend you're back in the condo, and to keep any sanity at all, you have to throw away EVERYTHING that isn't needed! :) It seems to be working for me, I always have huge bags of 'de-clutter' trash.
